About Nasi

Pioneering Sustainable Paper

At Nasi, we’re driven by a profound mission – to combat deforestation and mitigate climate change. Our journey began as a response to the alarming environmental impact of traditional paper manufacturing.

We saw the need for change and innovated with pineapple waste to create eco-friendly paper products. With integrity, passion, and unwavering commitment, we’ve embarked on a path to transform the paper industry.

Background

Deforestation is one of the major causes of climate change. We cut down trees for logs and timber, which are used as building materials, to make furniture, and in paper manufacturing.

Paper manufacturing has used up to 40% of all global wood, and paper manufacturing releases greenhouse gases such as Nitrogen dioxide, Sulphur dioxide and Carbon dioxide into the atmosphere.

The demand for paper and paper products is estimated to grow by 2030 and we are not replenishing this resource at the rate we’re depleting it. We have no choice but to invent a sustainable solution to this problem.

Why Nasi?

Did you know that about 24 trees are cut to make 1 ton of paper, which is about 200,000 sheets? These 200,000 sheets make about 1,500 books with 250 pages.

Environmentally, this has done more damage in that more than 200 million trees are cut down daily to make paper.

Through Nasi, we can now turn to other resources, such as pineapple waste, for paper production. Our products include exercise books, envelopes, A4 copy paper, and grocery bags.
